Balnacraig School

Scottish Chamber Orchestra

Working with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra is one of the greatest achievements to date. I gained so many valuable skills and experiences with the lovely people here.

I was given a lot of responsibility and had a lot of trust put into the work I was given.

I am still in talks with them and have been asked back at the beginning of March to help out at workshops.

This is and continues to be a very rewarding experience working with youths that don't get much exposure to learning music, and who need more attention than most. To help and watch their progression through delivering lessons is amazing.

It is in with my achievements as through discussions with their other teachers, it seems that I am able to get some responses out of the young people than a lot of their other teachers.

November 2014 I achieved my Grade 5 Music Theory with a Pass. This is a great achievement, and has set me up to have classical music theory along with the popular music theory that I have learned through my degree.

This is also a stepping stone in me working towards achieving my Grade 8 Singing.

This was another rewarding placement that I completed during my time at university.

This placement consisted of me helping out in a high school music department. I was shadowing classroom teachers and helping out with the pupils of the school in their instrumental lessons, accompanying them on piano, helping them with their composition work, showing them how to use sibelius and other music programs.
